Service to Humanity:  ”Late Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina left behind only half a million Naira”, Says son, Babangida

The son of former governor-general of northern Nigeria, Babangida Hassan Usman Katsina, has revealed that, when their father General Hassan Usman Katsina died he only left behind N500, 000.00.

Usman made this revelation in Katsina at the weekend, while speaking at the maiden General Hassan Usman Katsina public lecture organised by the Hassan Usman Katsina polytechnic, Katsina.

He however noted that their father left behind good name, honesty, discipline and transparency for all to copy.

Usman lamented that had it been their father had been alive he would not be a happy man with the devastating predicaments bedeviling the northern region. “The North is now bedevilled by banditry, killings, and kidnappings, destruction of property and raping of minors”, he added.

He urged all northern leaders to rise to the occasion by taking bold steps to save the region from total destruction. Similarly, the daughter of Late Hassan Usman Katsina, Dr. Amina Hassan Usman lamented the declining fortune of the northern region, calling on the leaders to do the needful.

Also speaking, the former Wazirin Katsina, Professor Sani Abubakar Lugga, noted that as far as he knows the late Hassan Usman Katsina left two houses only, one in Katsina and the second one in Kaduna.

The Waziri admonished leaders, especially those from the North, to learn from the late leader’s commitment to service to God and humanity.
